The Himalayan Stoat, also known as the Ermine, is a small carnivorous mammal found in the mountainous regions of the Himalayas, including parts of India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet. It inhabits alpine meadows, rocky slopes, and forests at elevations ranging from 2,000 to 5,000 meters above sea level.

The Himalayan Stoat has a slender, elongated body with short legs and a long, bushy tail. Its fur is typically brown or dark reddish-brown on the back, with a creamy white or light yellow underside. In winter, the coat changes to a completely white color, except for the black tip of the tail. The species has sharp claws, a pointed snout, and a keen sense of smell. It weighs around 150–250 grams, with a body length of 20–30 cm and a tail length of 10–15 cm. It is a carnivore and primarily preys on small mammals, birds, insects, and sometimes eggs.
